Why Should I Choose Esports and Gaming Administration?

Now is the ideal time to find a career in this quickly growing Esports and videogame industry, projected to reach more than $665 billion in revenue by 2030, according to Fortune Business Insights. With 3.09 billion people playing video games around the world, kids and young adults are not the only players. Nearly half of gamers are women. As these numbers grow, the need for more employees will grow as well.  And these are versatile jobs. This program was co-created with Unity Technologies with input from the International Game Developers Association (IGDA) to prepare you with a blend of knowledge in tech, business, games, and gaming culture that will be attractive to employers. Adding to all of that,  EC has a strong Esports athletic program with a state-of-the-art gaming lounge, where you can get practical, first-hand experiences.

What Will I Learn Through Esports and Gaming Administration?

This program will teach you about how games are made, how to manage Esports teams, and how to plan the end-to-end of Esports events from logistics to marketing. You’ll learn through projects developed with companies like Capcom and Riot as you explore the history of games, how to develop plots, and how to create graphics. You’ll also have projects that let you design a virtual intercollegiate sports competition.

What Can I Do With An Esports and Gaming Administration Minor?

This minor will give you specific, practical skills that you can pair with broader programs like Business Administration, Media Studies, Communications, and Design, Art, or Psychology. And the fast growth and wide breadth of the gaming industry means you’ll be able to find a variety of roles available to you nearly everywhere.
