As a registered nurse, you will be able to make a difference in the lives of many in need of medical care.
Nursing graduates work in a variety of areas and specialties in hospitals including medical surgical, critical care, emergency nursing, obstetrics, pediatrics, and mental health. Your work can include assessing a patient’s condition, planning and administering treatment in coordination with other health care professionals, educating patients and families about home treatment, and even supervising licensed practical nurses, nursing assistants, and home health aides.
Registered nurses also work in community health agencies where they can educate the public, clinics, schools, and businesses. Many graduates also pursue graduate degrees and work as managers, nurse practitioners, and nurse anesthetists.
