The Master of Science in Education with a concentration in General Education allows you to design your plan of study to align with your professional goals.
If you’re looking to advance your career, move up district salary scales, or pursue state credentials, this master’s in general education program lets you tailor your degree while benefitting from online coursework.
Our master’s in general education program offers three track options depending on your career goals:
If you are seeking certification in another state, contact your respective state department of education to see if Elmira’s program meets your state’s certification eligibility requirements.
If you wish to complete the MSEd in General Education program on a different progression cycle (e.g., two years, one course per term, or some other sequence), you will need to work with the Director of Graduate Studies to develop an individualized plan that meets your specific needs and circumstances.
For candidates enrolled in a certification-seeking track, practical classroom application is integrated into your study plan. You’ll complete required in-person, field-based experiences and practicum hours within your local school district or regional area.
