With a Biochemistry degree, your work can help create the products that improve people's lives.
Biochemistry graduates are equipped with the knowledge and skills to study the building blocks of life. From this work, you could make discoveries that help in the fight against cancer or develop medicine to help treat dementia, or develop tests that help identify genetic disorders and diseases.
If your interests are focused beyond the medical field, there are still plenty of opportunities. Biochemists can help our farmers and strengthen our food infrastructure by making crops more resistant to disease, insects, and drought – or your work could further pave the way with renewable plant-based energy sources such as biofuels. You can also become a teacher to educate and inspire those who will one day change the world with their own scientific discoveries.
