Move-In Mondays: Campus Hotspots

Fall Welcome will be here in a few short weeks. We know arriving at a new place, even one you have visited, can be a bit disorienting. That's why our "Move-In Monday" series continues today with some EC campus orienteering. The Residence Life team shared some of the go-to spots on campus that you should check out while you’re here.

Begin by exploring the interactive campus map until you’re familiar with the campus layout.

Here are important things to know about some of the buildings:

McGraw Hall
  • Home to many of the administrative offices you’ll need to visit from time to time.

    • The Financial Aid Office. Helps answer any questions related to your financial aid package throughout your educational career at EC. They are located on the first floor of McGraw in the Business Office suite.

    • The Bursar's Office. This is where to handle any billing questions or make payments. This is different from the Financial Aid Office, but both offices are located in the same office suite on the first floor.

    • The Registrar's Office. Handles all student records. Stop by this office, also on the first floor, if you have questions about class registration or transcripts.

Post Office
  • Located near the fountain and across from the bookstore, this is where you go if you need to mail, ship something, or pick up a package.

Campus Center

Move-In Mondays: Campus Hotspots

  • A central spot on campus. The CC is home to Campus Life, Residence Life, the George Waters Art Gallery, the IDEA Center, Tifft Lounge, the bowling alley, the Tommy Hilfiger Fashion Business School People’s Place store, and the main campus dining options: the Dining Hall in The Chuck and Janna Lindsay Dining Commons (second floor), the 1855 Room that serves Starbucks (first floor), and MacKenzie's (first floor).

  • The Residence Life Office is located on the first floor of the Campus Center. You’ll also find Residence Life Professional Staff in specific residence halls who are there to help make your transition easier.

The College Store

Move-In Mondays: Campus Hotspots

  • Pick up your textbooks and purchase your Elmira College-branded gear here. You can use the online College Store to order your books with your student ID or a credit card. Once you have a course list, simply enter your course IDs, the books you need will populate, and you can pick the ones you want to purchase. Just follow the prompts, and you can direct the books to be sent to the bookstore where you can pick them up. If you choose to order books from a different online source, they can be sent to your school address, and you can pick them up at the campus Post Office.

Cory House
  • If your ID card is lost or stolen, visit Campus Safety, located in the Cory House (720 Park Place, across the street from McGraw Hall). PRO TIPS:

    • Add the Campus Safety number to your cell phone contacts: 607-735-1777. Campus Safety personnel are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year in the event of an emergency or for assistance, including escorts anywhere on campus at any time.

    • Be sure to sign up for the EC Alert system to receive emergency and weather-related alerts.

Clarke Health Center (CHC)
  • Guthrie Clinic, housed in the Clarke Health Center building, provides accessible, quality health-care services to students at Elmira College. This is the place that can help manage prescription medications, allergy shots, referrals and treat colds, strains, or scrapes.

  • Elmira College offers free, confidential virtual mental health services for students, including scheduled counseling with licensed providers, 24/7 on-demand emotional support, and access to basic needs resources. Students can also explore self-care tools, wellness content, and an anonymous peer community for connection and support.

    • Visit timelycare.com/Elmira or download the TimelyCare app from your app store and register with your Elmira College email address. You’ll then be able to access TimelyCare with your Elmira College single sign-on credentials. Find more info here: Counseling at EC

  • If you’re a student-athlete, you’ll find Sports Medicine located in the CHC as well.
