Future Olympian: Zoey Lints ‘27 Sets Sights on Medal Podium

According to Elmira College student Zoey Lints '27, she has two personalities. Off the wrestling mat, she’s friendly and quick to smile. On the mat, she’s “mean.”

Her more on-the-mat persona has distinguished the Biochemistry and Biology major in wrestling competitions, twice earning her All-American honors.

Born into a wrestling family, she got her start watching her dad coach her older brothers. However, while her brothers did well and one set win records at their school, Lints struggled. With so few female wrestlers where she grew up in upstate New York, she always competed against males. While it helped her become a more aggressive player, she rarely won her matches.

But that started to change when she was a junior in high school, and there was more female competition. That’s when the wins began piling up.

When she arrived at EC, she started setting records. Now Lints and her brother tease each other about who is better.

Whether on or off the mat, Lints is always confident and driven. She plans to wrestle in the Olympics and she has no doubt that she’ll achieve her goal.

“I’m going to be doing this until I can’t walk,” she declared. “I won’t stop until I win the Olympics, and even then, I won’t stop.”
