Adding sustainability courses is an excellent complement to many majors and will equip you with an in-depth understanding of how our actions impact the world around us. As environmental hazards place increasing pressure on communities, governments and businesses are consulting with environmental scientists and specialists to help them minimize the impact of their operations and new constructions on the environment. This field is expected to grow by 8% between 2020-2030, twice the average growth for other careers.
One driver of this growth is the increasing focus on the environment and the impact of environmental hazards on our communities. In response, businesses and governments are bringing in environmental consultants in order to reduce their impact on nature.
Sustainability is an interdisciplinary program designed to examine sustainability holistically. Students will explore the topic through multiple lenses, from economic to societal. Additionally, on-site case studies and travel opportunities are built into the curriculum.
We are also home to clubs and organizations that allow students to pursue their interests outside the classroom.
Since the sustainability program is interdisciplinary, our faculty span many departments and areas of study within the College.
