Phi Alpha Theta, Psi Tau Chapter

Phi Alpha Theta is a professional society that promotes the study of history through the encouragement of research, good teaching, publication and the exchange of learning and ideas among historians. They seek to bring students, teachers and writers of history together for intellectual and social exchanges, which promote and assist historical research and publication by our members in a variety of ways.

Prizes/Scholarships

The Barbara H. Palmer '67 Prize in History is awarded annually to a graduating senior who has shown exceptional achievement in the field of history.

The Kathleen Arnott Watters '65 Humanities Prize recognizes an exceptional graduating student in American Studies, Classical Studies, English Literature, History, or Philosophy & Religion, whose work exemplifies the ideals of scholarly inquiry, and demonstrates a passion for the humanities.
