Dear Campus Community,
I am pleased to share an update on the Presidential Search and the important progress made over the past several months. The Search Committee met with WittKieffer the first week of February to prepare for candidate application review in early Spring, and our partners at WittKieffer report that they are engaged with a robust and highly promising group of candidates. Their early conversations have been productive, encouraging, and aligned with the aspirations we have set for Elmira’s next leader.
With thanks to Vice President Jen Swain and her team—and with thoughtful input from the Search Committee and our broader community—we completed a comprehensive Leadership Profile that now guides every stage of the search. This document clearly articulates the qualities, priorities, and vision we are seeking, and it has served as an essential foundation for the work underway.
WittKieffer has since launched a broad outreach effort to individuals whose experience aligns with our goals, as well as to trusted leaders who may offer strong nominations. We have also placed targeted external advertisements in publications and platforms widely used by higher education leaders, ensuring the opportunity reaches a diverse and accomplished audience.
We are now entering the phase in which WittKieffer is engaged in targeted recruitment and detailed assessment of prospective candidates. While the next few months will be relatively quiet for the Search Committee, they will be very active ones for our search partners as they continue this important work.
