Admissions
Looking for a small, close-knit campus filled with incredible, hands-on learning opportunities? Our Admissions Office can help make Elmira College YOUR place.

In 1926, radium was hailed as a miracle, and Madame Curie was an international celebrity—until the young women who brushed its glow onto watch faces began to fall mysteriously ill.
The story about these factory workers is at the center of the Elmira College Theatre’s upcoming performance of D. W. Gregory’s Radium Girls.
The play’s main character is Grace Fryer, a factory worker determined to have her day in court, as she challenges her former employer, Arthur Roeder. Roeder is an idealist who cannot fathom that a substance used to shrink tumors could be harming his employees. As the fight intensifies, Grace must contend not only with the U.S. Radium Corporation but with the fears of those closest to her.
“I think people should come see the show for its historic elements!” exclaimed Khamari Boyd ’28, a Theatre major and performer. “That, and not a lot of people know what the radium girls went through and how they shaped history and working conditions.”
