Elmira College Theatre Presents Love/Sick

If you’re interested in a fun romp and a good laugh, then make time to see the Elmira College Theatre production of Love/Sick, by John Cariani. This “unromantic comedy” is a collection of nine short plays that explore the pain and joy that come with being in love.

“When I first saw a production of Love/Sick, I was struck by the comedy; and yet almost every laugh turned to stab me in the heart,” explained Rebecca Rich, Associate Professor of Theatre, Director of Theatre, Creative Arts and Humanities Chair. “I was equally stimulated by the diversity of relationships portrayed and the brave and daring twists each relationship took in performance. While each of the short nine plays had its individual arc, as the playwright indicates in his notes to readers, a larger arc emerged, ‘creating a satisfying whole.'”

“I’m excited about this production because it's different than anything I've been a part of before!” exclaimed Mia Pavon ’26, a Psychology major and cast member. “It’s been a good challenge to step outside of my comfort zone. It's been really rewarding seeing how the different scenes line up and connect with each other.”

Free and open to the public, this production is made possible by the generous support of The Community Foundation of Elmira-Corning and the Finger Lakes, Inc.

Tickets are complimentary, but due to limited seating, reservations are strongly recommended. Concessions will be available and proceeds benefit the EC Theatre Club. The performance contains adult themes and is recommended for mature audiences.

Performances will be in the Watson Fine Arts Building on the EC campus on the following dates.
