The Elmira College Scholars Program awards five full-tuition scholarships per year to first-year, full-time students.

A committee comprised of faculty and administrators will review the Scholar Applicants and will select a group of finalists to interview. From the finalists, five students will be chosen as Elmira Scholars.

Eligibility

When reviewing applicants for the Elmira College Scholars Program, the committee will review holistically, meaning a thorough and comprehensive review of an applicant’s complete file will occur. The committee will review high school transcripts, academic profiles, letters of recommendation, personal statements, and scholarship essay.

Applicants need to have a 3.7 GPA unweighted academic GPA

Current high school students interested in applying should complete the Application for Admission as well as the Elmira Scholars Application through the EC Online Portal.

Application Process

In addition to the Application for Admission, eligible students will submit an essay between 500-750 words based on the following prompt.

The year is 2037. It has been 10 years since your commencement at Elmira College. Since that time how have the values of the Elmira College Mission Statement helped shape you and the way you approach the world.

All requirements for admission and the Elmira Scholars Program must be received by the Office of Admissions by December 31st at 11:59 p.m. EST.

To apply, visit your Online Portal.
