Advisors meet with students during a FIGHT Club meeting

The Women's and Gender Studies Program hosts the annual Julia Reinstein Symposium, focused on issues of gender with speakers, workshops, film screenings, and student research presentations on campus.

Student Groups

  • The Gender Issues Group works to bring issues of gender awareness to campus.
  • PRIDE student group supports gay, lesbian, and bi-sexual students and their allies.
  • The Callisophia Society re-establishes the tradition of the original Society, which was the first women's society on the Elmira College campus. The Society's mission is to solicit content (art, poetry, fiction, and other cultural commentary) for and design the annual Callisophia digital magazine. They also fundraise and conduct other related activities to support the magazine and women's and gender issues on the EC campus and beyond.
