Elmira's Certificate in Pre-Medical Sciences is designed to enhance your knowledge or undergraduate grades in preparation for entry into medical school.
Do you need to brush up on courses for your medical school application? Our Certificate in Pre-Medical Sciences can help you achieve your educational and career goals.
The Certificate in Pre-Medical Sciences is designed to help those students who already have a bachelor's degree, but who need to enhance their knowledge or undergraduate grades for acceptance to medical school. The program is offered over the summer and fall terms and features the core sciences required of medical programs, plus an MCAT Review course. You'll complete the program by December - in time to register for the next round of MCATs.

Fall 2026 Courses: August 31-December 12
At EC, our focus is on YOU. While you’re here, you’ll experience small class sizes, engaged faculty and staff available for support outside of the classroom, and a pre-med advisor who can guide you through the medical school application process.
Plus, our Certificate students who are waitlisted at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine’s D.O. program will be exempt from retaking the MCATs and will be admitted to LECOM with a 3.3 GPA earned in the Certificate program. That means less stress and more focus on your studies.
To qualify for this program, you need to have earned a bachelor’s degree with a 3.0 GPA in major courses.
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and admission is competitive.
Summer courses: $490 per credit
Fall courses: $610 per credit
Technology Fee: $30 per credit
Applicable Lab Fees: $31.50 per credit
Textbook costs vary.
EC alumni receive a 10% discount on tuition, exclusive of fees.
