At Elmira College, our faculty is passionate about seeing you succeed and excited to engage with you one-on-one or in small groups for research, classwork, and career advice at any time.
Research and hands-on work are critical in STEM careers and especially in environmental science.
We have active research projects on a variety of different topics that connect to environmental science including water quality, water and sediment transport, programming, green energy, data analytics, field mapping, and tree surveys. As an example, a current student and Dr. Trevor Browning are investigating the potential for various types of green energy on campus using a weather station located on top of Carnegie Hall on campus. With this information, we can help guide environmental decisions made on campus. Come talk with us. Our doors are always open!
