Art students have many great internship opportunities at Elmira.

Explore hands-on, real world learning at some of the area's nationally recognized organizations and those with deep roots in the community's history and culture.

In recent years, Elmira College students have completed internships with the Arnot Art Museum, The Rockwell Museum, National Soaring Museum, Corning Museum of Glass, Herbert F. Johnson Museum, Chemung County Historical Society, Community Arts of Elmira, and the Arts Council of the Southern Finger Lakes.

Scholarships

Portfolio-based Scholarship

Qualifications:
Students admitted as Art majors will automatically be considered for the Portfolio Art Award. The award is $1,500 per academic year for a maximum of $6,000 over four years. To renew this award, you must be continuously enrolled as a full-time, undergraduate student majoring in Art. You must maintain a 2.7 cumulative GPA and have no major disciplinary incidents on record. Art faculty will be consulted each term for continued renewal.

This scholarship is open to all first-year Art majors who can choose from concentrations in Studio Art, Digital Art and Graphic Design, Digital Art and Product Design, or Art Therapy, as well as to freshmen majoring in Visual Arts (Childhood Education).
