Commencement with an Elmira College education is the beginning of a future bright with possibilities.

As our students accept their degrees, they do so knowing that our rigorous academic programs have prepared them with the critical thinking and hands-on experiential learning key to success in today’s professional world.

Commencement 2024

When: Sunday, May 19, 2024 starting at 11:00 a.m. 
Where: Carnegie lawn (Murray Athletic Center in the case of inclement weather. A decision will be made by Friday, May 17, 2024.)

Information for Students | Commencement Weekend Schedule

This year's speaker is John Zeller '73, MSEd '78, who worked many years in higher education before retiring as Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations at the University of Pennsylvania in August 2022. At Penn, he launched many successful fundraising campaigns, including the $5.4 billion Power of Penn Campaign and the $4.3 billion Making History Campaign.

If you can't attend in person, we'll have a livestream available for your convenience.

No tickets are sold for Commencement, so come early to get a good seat.

The best parking will be in the lot along 6th Street, behind Harris and Watson Halls, and the parking lots behind Alumni Hall. Park Place will be closed for the morning, so you can access these parking lots from North Main Street. Our staff will be out with golf carts to drive you from your vehicle to the seating area if needed.

A reception will immediately follow at the Campus Center, where light refreshments will be served.
