Dear Elmira College Community,
On the heels of a beautiful Commencement celebration and moving farewells to President & Mrs. Lindsay, I would like to begin this Presidential Search update by expressing my sincere gratitude to the search committee. Their leadership and stewardship guided this search process from start to finish, including their thoughtful engagement during the candidates’ campus visits last week.
Like so much of the Elmira College experience, however, this effort was truly a collective one. The Board and I are deeply grateful for the commitment shown by the entire campus community throughout the candidate visits. We would like to especially recognize a few individuals whose contributions were vital to the success of the week: Mary Barrett, Jen Swain, Chuck and Janna Lindsay, Dr. Corey Stilts, Dr. Joe Lemak, Steve Webb, Ellery Mays ’26, Reilly Stedge ’27, students staffing the Tommy Hilfiger Fashion Business School People's Place, and Dr. Alison Wolfe. Each helped create a welcoming, authentic, and engaging experience for our candidates.
In fact, each of the three final candidates expressed genuine appreciation for the warmth of their reception, the depth of their conversations, and the strong sense of community they encountered at Elmira College. The EC campus community made a lasting and highly positive impression on them all.
I know there is great anticipation across campus as we move toward announcing Elmira College's 16th president. We look forward to sharing this news - and celebrating it as it deserves - soon. In the meantime, the Board is completing several final steps in the process, including coordination with the selected candidate’s current institution to ensure a respectful and smooth transition. As soon as we are able, we will share the exciting news broadly and celebrate together.
It has been a true honor to work alongside the search committee and the Elmira College community.
