Elmira College is a private liberal arts College located in the Finger Lakes region of New York. Elmira College was the first college to offer a comprehensive curriculum for women, and is home of the Center for Mark Twain Studies. We are seeking a Registration Support Staff to join the Registrar team. This this a temporary position, (approx. 2-3 months depending on start date).

The Registration Support Staff assists The Office of the Registrar by performing a variety of daily data entry tasks, recordkeeping, student registrations, general office tasks that requires strong Microsoft 365 experience, accuracy, attention to details, confidentiality, and excellent communication skills.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Creates, verifies, edits data in order to consolidate course schedules, academic calendars, and final exam schedules;
  • Completes and maintains data entry for The Elmira College Undergraduate and Graduate Catalogs including Academic Calendars, course descriptions, and program requirements within the student portal (MyEC) and the Acalog and Curriculog programs;
  • Assists Registrar in maintaining academic policy information on the Elmira College Web and within the catalog;
  • Monitor, approve, and maintain communication concerning Elmira College academic facilities and all requests to use these classrooms through Brightly;
  • Assign classrooms for all classes being offered on Elmira College campus;
  • Creates and updates “How-To” manuals for completing specific tasks concerning course information and registration deadlines related to on-going upgrades with Jenzabar and other office related software’s;
  • Provides customer service to visitors to the Office of the Registrar, along with answering emails, and telephone calls;
  • Process FERPA submissions, transcript requests, enrollment verifications and degree verifications.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate Degree preferred;
  • Computer literacy with Google, Microsoft 365 (word and excel), e-mail, and design software;
  • Possess strong organizational skills, the ability to pay attention to detail, and the ability to work steadily under pressure in order to meet deadlines;
  • Ability to work as a productive team player as well as independently with minimal supervision;
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and uphold confidentiality in maintaining critical and sensitive information and records. Knowledge of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) helpful;
  • Experience in higher education or Jenzabar highly desired.

COMPENSATION: $20.00 per hour

This position is benefit eligible.

STATUS: Full-time, Non-exempt (approx. 37.5 hours per week)
