With over 35 majors and minor areas of concentration, Elmira College lays the foundation for a diverse, cross discipline education, encouraging you to both specialize and explore.
At Elmira College, we believe in celebrating every student for who they are.
The college experience includes meeting students from around the world, participating in Elmira traditions, completing community service projects and hopping into a pickup kickball game. Whether it’s in a classroom or a conference room, in a scientific field or on a sports field, on a stage, in a lab or part of a club, Elmira is your place to discover, grow, and find your place in the world.
Part of the college experience is getting to know students from around the world. And one of the best ways to do that is by living in one of Elmira’s residence halls. All undergraduate students must live on campus, although there are certain exceptions. Every room comes with furniture, and every hall has Wi-Fi, free laundry, pantries for cooking, and a Community Coordinator.
From comfort food to global cuisine, Elmira students will have a selection of fresh meals to choose from. Food is fuel to college students, so you’ll have lots of options throughout the day and around campus. A variety of meal plans are available.
With over 70 clubs and organizations to choose from, there is plenty for you to do and lots of ways for you to learn. You can meet others who are as interested in board games, music, community service, or human rights as you are, or prepare for your future career with one of our pre-professional groups. And if you don't see your particular passion represented, you can start your own group.
Joining Elmira College is joining a tradition that stretches back more than 150 years. Students learn the college songs and share in the pride that connects them to the generations that came before. At the same time, each new class is a symbol of the future that the college looks toward with present-day traditions such as the President's Welcome, the holiday banquet, the charity dance marathon, and Spirit Day.
Elmira College’s academic buildings provide a variety of spaces and tools to foster student learning.
The Elmira College Speech and Hearing Clinic serves the community from the heart of our campus in Tompkins Hall. A range of services are provided by either our audiologist and speech-language pathologists, or students under professional supervision.
Let Elmira College host your next event or celebration! We have several spaces available to rent, from our spacious dining hall and Stephans Lounge to the warm, pub-like atmosphere of MacKenzie's, the Gibson Theatre, Peterson Chapel, and the more intimate President's Dining Room. You can also book outdoor events and utilize the Cowles Hall portico.
Fans can check out Elmira College’s Division III athletics either on the Campus Field, in Speidel Gymnasium, or under the domes at the Murray Athletic Center.
