Prospective Students Get Insider Access To EC At Fall Open House

At this year’s Elmira College Fall Open House, prospective students and their families will immerse themselves in EC’s tight-knit community and see why Elmira ranks in the top 10 for multiple categories, including #2 for Undergraduate Teaching, in US News & World Report’s Regional Colleges North division.

The event is from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 24. Just prior to the main activities, EC will hold a special recognition breakfast for visiting Elmira Key Award recipients. The Key Award is a merit-based scholarship worth $88,000 given to high-achieving students. Key Award recipients can register for the breakfast.

Fall Open House provides prospective students a chance to discover the many pathways to successful careers that EC creates through its 30-plus majors and minors. At the Co-Curricular and Academic Fair, they’ll meet professors and athletic coaches who’ll share how EC blends hands-on learning with professional skill-building, giving them the leadership skills to excel in the workforce. They can also get details about how EC creates direct bridges to prestigious graduate programs like business and engineering degrees at Syracuse University and medical degrees at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM).

Current students will share how they found their place at EC, building friendships, connecting with mentors, and taking part in unique learning opportunities from Term I through Term III. They are a great resource for answering questions about sports, residence halls, day-to-day campus life, and whatever else attendees have on their mind.

The formal program ends with lunch in the Campus Center Dining Hall.

For those ready to take the next step, Admissions counselors will be available throughout the day to walk students through the application process and help them start their journey as a Soaring Eagle.
