Elmira College Art Faculty Exhibition Opens March 13

A new exhibit by the Elmira College Art faculty will be on display in the George Waters Art Gallery starting March 13. The faculty will host a closing reception from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Thursday, April 3, with the exhibit ending on April 5. The Elmira College community and general public are invited to view the exhibit; admission is free.

Exhibit includes:
  • Ceramics by Chris Longwell, Associate Professor of Art

  • Furniture and sculptural installations by Derek Chalfant, Professor of Art

  • Paintings, video, and photography by Aaron Kather, Assistant Professor of Art

  • Digital in-camera collage and embroidered textiles by Jan Kather, Instructor of Art

A special video of artwork submitted to the international Berkeley Commonplace and Center for Mark Twain Studies called “Ever the Twain Shall Meet” will be on a loop in the Gallery. Contributing artists for this collaborative project include Aaron Kather, Ann Bittick, Askush Nuk, C.K. Itamura, Caroline McManus, Cora de Lang, Daniel Reidy, Diane Woodhouse, Flora Georgiou, Hesham Malik, Joe Mullen, Kathleen Huddle, Kurt Edwards, Laura Jaen Smith, Mark Woodhouse, Daniel Reidy & Jan Kather, Rich Page, and Sabine Stein.

The Gallery is located in the Elmira College Campus Center. Gallery hours are noon to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
