Jan Kather, Instructor of Art at Elmira College, has two images in the “Camera & Collage” show, which is part of the 19th Annual PhotoNOLA Festival of Photography now on display in New Orleans, Louisiana. The exhibit includes works by artists from Australia, Kuwait, Mexico, Canada, and the United States, and is on display at the Kolaj Institute Gallery in New Orleans through January 25.
According to the PhotoNOLA website, “The artwork demonstrates a variety of techniques and approaches. The artists are engaged in collage as process; making art with family archives and found materials; exploring alternative processes; and challenging how we think about images in a world flooded with them.”
Kather created the "in-camera" collages during a summer online residency with the Kolaj Institute. She created a Tumblr blog called In-Camera Collage+ to document her creative process over the summer.
