Tri-Alpha inductees joined with the honor society’s officers and advisors during an induction ceremony on October 25, 2024.
The Elmira College Iota Pi Chapter of the Alpha Alpha Alpha (Tri-Alpha) National Honor Society inducted 12 new members recently, recognizing the academic and leadership achievements of first-generation college students.
This was the second induction ceremony for the chapter established on April 7, 2024. The honor society advisors are Larry Parker II, Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and Title IX Coordinator, and Dr. Joshua Parker, Assistant Professor of Mathematics.
There will be another induction ceremony in the Winter 2025 term to recognize additional academic and leadership achievements among first-generation students.
Tri-Alpha was founded on March 24, 2018, at Moravian College (now Moravian University) in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, to recognize academic achievements, promote leadership, and provide support networks for first-generation college students.
