Elmira College Celebrates Outstanding Students with Prestigious Scholarships

The Elmira College Office of Admissions recently announced the awardees for this year's Elmira College Scholars Program.

The Scholars Program awards full-tuition scholarships to first-year, full-time students through an application process. Eligible applicants need to have a 3.7 unweighted academic GPA. A committee reviewed the applications, which included letters of recommendation, personal statements, and a 500-700-word essay based on a prompt. The Elmira Scholars will receive a full-tuition scholarship, renewable at the level of the entering year for up to four years, upon enrollment at Elmira College

This year’s finalists are:

  • Amber Anderson of East Amherst, New York. Currently attending Williamsville East High School

  • Mirabbos Anorqulov of Akkurgan, Uzbekistan. Currently attending Nurafshon Presidential School

  • Michael Currao of Albany, New York. Currently attending Colonie Central High School

  • Genevieve Geiser of Barrington, Rhode Island. Currently attending Barrington High School

  • Mya Guandulain-Lopez of West Norristown, Pennsylvania. Currently attending Norristown Area High School

  • Nathan Lowry of Boise, Idaho. Currently attending Renaissance High School

Students who did not earn the Elmira Scholars award were automatically submitted to receive the $28,000 Trustee Scholarship, the highest merit scholarship offered at Elmira College.

The Trustee Scholarship recipients are:

  • Breanna Andersen of East Amherst, New York. Currently attending Williamsville East High School

  • Helen Bossart of McDonald, Pennsylvania. Currently attending Linsly School

  • Olivia Brenenstuhl of Ballston Spa, New York. Currently attending Saratoga Central Catholic High School

  • Cassidy Crawford of Batavia, New York. Currently attending Batavia High School

  • Tyler Germer of Perry Hall, Maryland. Currently attending Eastern Technical High School

  • Noah Johnson of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Currently attending Lewis Palmer High School

  • Mariana Soja of Ludlow, Massachusetts. Currently attending Ludlow High School
