Members of the Elmira College Dance Marathon (ECDM) service organization got a head start this year toward their fundraising goal of $10,000. The team recently held a spaghetti dinner on campus that raised $482. While a nice start to their fundraising efforts, the students hope to raise more leading up to and during their main fundraising event, the Dance Marathon. The event is open to the public and will be from 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m., March 23, in Speidel Gymnasium on the main EC campus.

“We want to express a big thank you to everyone who came and helped make the ECDM Spaghetti Dinner a success!” exclaimed Hailey Clancy ’24, a Nursing major and ECDM President. “The money raised will go to the Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) at Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira, New York. This is important to the ECDM team because all of the money raised will help provide critical life-saving treatments and healthcare services for children.”

ECDM organizers are seeking more dance teams and donations. This year, the family-friendly event invites participants to “have fun at the circus.” There will be big raffle items and food, which were provided thanks to generous community donations.

Last year, ECDM participants raised $5,849. Since ECDM was founded in 2015, the event has raised more than $65,000 for CMN at Arnot Health.

“Together we can change kids' health and change the future, but, we need your help!” said Clancy.
