For the 11th consecutive year, Elmira College received a generous grant from The Mildred Faulkner Truman Foundation. The $15,000 grant-in-aid is distributed to selected Tioga County, New York, students who have demonstrated financial need for the 2023-2024 academic year.

Since 2013, Truman Foundation scholarships have assisted 33 Tioga County students enrolled at Elmira College.

"I sincerely appreciate receiving the Mildred Faulkner Truman Foundation scholarship so that I can attend a prestigious and welcoming college close to home," said Asia Curkendall '25, a Business Administration major from Candor, New York. "I look forward to having many different academic and athletic experiences while at EC. I'm excited to see where my classes will take me next and what I will learn along the way. Both the Business and Art departments genuinely set me up for success and each one of my professors is rooting for me no matter what."

"The Mildred Faulkner Truman Foundation strongly supports the pursuit of higher education and is proud to continue providing these scholarships to Tioga County students attending Elmira College," said Stephanie Carrigg, Executive Director of the Foundation.

“Mrs. Faulkner Truman's foresight in establishing this grant-in-aid opportunity for Tioga County students is a true testament to her business acumen and her compassion," said Dr. Charles Lindsay, Elmira College President. “We thank the Foundation for its ongoing commitment to and investment in the success and growth of our students."
