On April 4, the Elmira College Chapter of Sigma Beta Delta, the International Society for Business, Management, and Administration, inducted 14 students during a special ceremony on campus. Four business professors also were inducted into the chapter.

Sigma Beta Delta, founded in 1994, requires business students to rank in the top 20 percent of their class to be eligible for membership.

The 14 students inducted, included:

The four business professors inducted were:

  • Mark Abdalla
  • Dr. Jason Lee Carter
  • Dr. Alexis Rittenberger

Following the induction ceremony, more than 70 EC Business and Economics Students attended a celebration in Stephans Lounge.


The Elmira College chapter of Sigma Beta Delta was founded in 1998. Today, there are more than seventy active Gamma Sigma Epsilon chapters throughout the United States. The society is governed by a national executive council of elected officers and meets in biennial conventions for the purpose of governance, fellowship, and scientific exchange.
