Alumni, students, and friends of Elmira College can share their everlasting love for the Purple and Gold by participating in this year’s Elmira Everlasting. Mark your calendars for Wednesday, April 26, and plan to participate in the College’s annual day of giving.

Last year the EC community raised $100,000 and the hope is to raise even more this year. Once again the day includes a bit of fun with the Class Challenge, where each class competes to generate the greatest number of gifts. While the title “Most Everlasting Class,” will be won by a few, everyone can feel good in the knowledge that they are supporting the strong academic programs, exceptional undergraduate research, study abroad opportunities, and supportive community environment at Elmira College.

“Elmira College has become my second home,” said Calli Vocke ’23, Class President. “I’m so grateful for the support provided by the EC community that allows students to be the strongest version of themselves. Elmira has given me the opportunity to get involved around campus in so many different ways, from class president to co-captain of our Women’s Volleyball team. The relationships I have built with my classmates, professors, and coaches have turned my experience as a student here at Elmira into something that will last much longer than the four years I spent here on campus.”

For the Challenge, the number of gifts will be tracked throughout the day, with updates posted on social media. The amount of the gift doesn’t matter – whether someone from the Class of 1985 gives $19.85 or $198.50 or $1,985, every gift counts.

“Remember, making a gift, large or small, makes an immediate and direct impact for our students and we can’t do that without you,” said Lindsay Baker, Director of Annual Giving.

Again this year the campus community, particularly current students, can get involved by placing a pennant in their favorite spot on campus. The Elmira College pennants will be distributed to the campus community ahead of time, and on April 26, those with a pennant can mark their favorite spot on campus, take a photo or video of their location, and post the image or video to social media, being sure to include #ElmiraEverlasting.

Don’t have a pennant or aren’t near the campus? That’s OK. Share what makes Elmira College ‘YOUR PLACE.’ Is it a location, like a special building or bench, a tradition, or is it the people you met along the way? On April 26, share what you love about EC on social media and be sure to include #ElmiraEverlasting.
