Accepted Student Recognition Day 4/6/24 arrow

February is Black History Month and Elmira College has a series of events to honor and celebrate black history and achievements. The events feature black professionals from the greater Elmira region who share their experiences on a range of topics, including local history, music, and the contributions of black people today in making the history of tomorrow. The events are free and open to the general public.

“I am excited to highlight these different professionals throughout the month,” said Larry Parker, Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Elmira College. “Our theme this year is about how black history is in action today. Today’s black professionals were influenced by those who came before them, and in turn, they are forging paths today that will benefit current and future Elmira College students.”
