Each year, the Elmira College Board of Trustees Prize is presented by the Trustees to students whose college experience demonstrates continual growth and development academically, socially, or in service to the College community. One of the three recipients this year is Elizabeth Hanson '21.

"In the past four years, my experiences within the classroom, with the Elmira women's ice hockey team, and working as a library assistant and Gold Key tour guide have helped me grow as an individual," said Hanson. "I am grateful for the support I have received from the Elmira College community and honored that my hard work and personal growth is recognized by being named a recipient of the Board of Trustees Prize."

Hanson has a lengthy list of academic and athletic accomplishments. She is a member of the Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society, secretary of the Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society, vice president of the League of Intern Speech Pathologists, Class of 1960 Scholarship recipient, Cynthia Witecki '67 Endowed Scholarship recipient, and Elmira College Gold Key member. She has been named to the Empire 8 President's List, UCHC All Academic team, and will be graduating with Summa Cum Laude Latin Commencement honors.

As a member of the EC women's ice hockey team, she is a four-time UCHC champion, but also UCHC All-Second team, AHCA All-American scholar, two-time time UCHC All-Academic team, three-time UCHC Goalie of the Week, and two-time Elmira College Athlete of the Week.
