Janice Teeter '21 has been named the recipient of this year's Elmira College Helen Bosworth Beers '24 Prize and Rho Gamma Scholarship Prize.

"This recognition is so special to me. It was something I never expected to receive, but it means a lot to me that the nursing faculty thought of me out of our nursing class of so many deserving students," said Teeter. "I am truly honored and so grateful for all that they have done for me both through education and encouragement over my past four years here at Elmira College!"

The Helen Bosworth Beers '24 Prize is presented to a junior or senior who in daily living supports religious principles, is a good student, and an outstanding citizen in the College. Helen was a member of the Class of 1924, and the award was endowed by members of her family in her honor.

The Rho Gamma Scholarship Prize is given annually to a Rho Gamma member who is a graduating senior nursing student who demonstrates scholarship and excellence in nursing.

Teeter is active on campus, involved in numerous clubs and organizations. She is the president of the EC Chiclettes; the president, treasurer, and worship leader for EC BASIC; co-overall director of the Elmira College Dance Marathon; and president of EC's chapter of Alpha Psi Omega National Theatre Honor Society.

Teeter will be working for Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pennsylvania, after graduation.
