With announced closure, learn how EC can help.arrow

The Unprecedented Class of 2024 began their Elmira College venture this past week, and for nineteen incoming students their attendance at EC is the extension of a family tradition.

Brianna Babcock '24 is following in the footsteps of not only her mother, Marie Babcock '99, but also her four aunts, two of which also met their spouses at EC.

"It's been about five years since all of my sisters and I were here together for Reunion," said Marie. "I'm so excited to be back on campus to help Brianna move in."

MeganRae Burke '24 is following her older sister, KatieLynn Burke '14. Erring on the side of caution, MeganRae and KatieLynn, opted to take their Legacy photo at home.

"My sister is eight months pregnant so she is not traveling right now, but we wanted to be part of celebrating this family tradition," said MeganRae, who is also an incoming member of the EC Field Hockey team.

Ten students joined siblings on campus, including Catherine Doyle '24 and Patrick Doyle '24, who are a sibling pair embarking on this journey together.

The Legacies of the Unprecedented Class of 2024 share their family members' admiration of Elmira College, blazing the way for a new generation of Legacies to carry on traditions, both past and present.
