Two Winners Selected for Annual Juried Art ExhibitionFor the first time ever, the Elmira College Arts Alive Juried Student Show will feature two artists to exhibit for the month of March: Kenta Okumura 21 and Alex Taylor '23.The decision to elect two winners was not easy, according to this year's juror, Jeremy Foldsey, a Philadelphia-based artist.

"Both students are talented and passionate about what they do. They both deserve to be awarded this honor," said Foldesy. "A joint exhibition forces them to collaborate to find some kind of unifying theme. Installing an exhibition like this is a creative act in itself. I look forward to seeing what they come up with."

Along with the juried student show, the Gannett-Tripp Library is featuring the Annual Art Alumni exhibit as part of March's Women's History Month celebrations. This year the selected art alumna is Kathleen Huddle '88. Huddle is dedicated to promoting peace by protesting social and political injustices through her artwork. She believes it is the work of an artist to hold up a mirror to society to reflect the times in which we are living.

The exhibits are scheduled to open on March 1 and will run through to the end of the month. Hours for public viewing are 10:00am-8:30pm daily.
