5:00 PM - 7:00 PM
This event is for current Elmira College students, coaches, faculty, and staff. The event was postponed due to weather and will now take place on Monday, September 8 at 5:00 p.m. on the lawn outside of Anderson and Columbia Halls.
Members of the EC Campus Community will simulate a Spanish tradition called La Tomatina where community members throw tomatoes at each other. Held annually in Bunol, Spain, the event is more than a massive tomato fight. It's a vibrant expression of community, celebration, and cultural identity. It is rooted in a spontaneous food fight that occurred in 1945. The festival has evolved into a globally recognized event that reflects Spain's playful spirit and love for communal gatherings.
The EC community will simulate the event with non-toxic washable paint, red food coloring, and water. Real tomatoes will not be used.
