Elmira College uses a test-optional admission process; it does not require students to submit the SAT or ACT to be considered for admission into the college.

If students believe that their results on the SAT or ACT will enhance their academic portfolio for admission, they should submit test scores. Test scores may be submitted by the student, school counselor, via an official high school transcript (if applicable), or directly from the testing agency - SAT Code 2226 or ACT Code 2736.

Students who have a grade point average below 2.7 at the end of their junior year should plan to submit SAT or ACT scores to enhance their applicant profile. Test-optional candidates are encouraged to submit a second letter of recommendation or personal statement. All applicants, but especially those who apply test-optional, are encouraged to schedule an in-person or phone interview.
