Through the 3+1 MLS degree program, you can play a key role in patient diagnosis and treatment.
The EC MLS 3+1 degree program prepares you to become a clinical laboratory scientist, medical laboratory scientist, or a medical technologist – jobs that are in very high demand worldwide.
The EC MLS 3+1 major is similar to a Biology or Biochemistry major (with courses in cell and molecular biology, microbiology, biochemistry, immunology, anatomy, and physiology), with the coursework completed in three years and the fourth year spent training in hospital laboratories at one of our clinical affiliate sites in Rochester, Sayre, Jamestown, or Brooklyn. Following the clinical year, students may opt to take the ASCP licensing exam.
Already have a BS degree in Biology, Chemistry, or Biochemistry? Our Post-Baccalaureate MLS Program is designed for you!
Graduates of the MLS degree program perform laboratory tests on patient samples and provide life-saving blood banking services as critical players in patient diagnosis and treatment in a wide range of hospital, laboratory, and university settings.
