Clinical Laboratory Science is a high-demand career path that offers many exciting and rewarding opportunities.

Elmira College’s Clinical Laboratory Sciences program will prepare you to become a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS), Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), and/or Medical Technologist (MT). These jobs that are in extremely high demand at hospitals, research centers, clinics, and universities worldwide.

Your work could include clinical trials, figuring out how to combat viruses and infections, processing and storing stem cells, handling life-saving donations in a blood bank, analyzing criminal evidence, or coordinating research in academic medical centers. You could also become a laboratory sales representative, provide support as a technical representative, or work as a laboratory consultant.

You'll be well prepared to complete the ASCP licensing exam following your clinical year. A major in CLS (not biology) is a requirement for NYS licensure, so if you are considering working in a diagnostic laboratory someday, this program is for you.
