Commencement with an Elmira College education is the beginning of a future bright with possibilities.
As our students accept their degrees, they do so knowing that our rigorous academic programs have prepared them with the critical thinking and hands-on experiential learning key to success in today’s professional world.

Where: Carnegie Lawn
Elmira College does not issue tickets for Commencement. There are a set number of chairs available on Carnegie Lawn directly in front of the stage, with plenty of lawn space if you'd like to bring a camp/tent chair or blanket.
If you're visiting from out of town, we encourage you to make your room reservations with one of our partner hotels.
For those unable to attend in person, the ceremony is offered via livestream.
Accessibility
Ushers will be available to assist with guest seating. The best accessible parking is the parking lot on 6th Street, behind Harris and Watson Halls and the parking lots behind Alumni Hall. Because Park Place will be closed on Commencement morning, it is best to approach these parking lots from North Main Street. There are accessible restrooms available in both Harris Hall and Kolker Hall. Buildings and Grounds staff will be able to assist guests by bringing them to the seating area using golf carts, if needed. In the event Commencement is moved to the Murray Athletic Center, there is elevator access to the floor level of the Hockey Arena.
