Elmira College Inducts Seven Students Into New Tri-Alpha National Honor Society Chapter

The Elmira College Iota Pi Chapter of the Alpha Alpha Alpha (Tri-Alpha) National Honor Society was established and held its first student inductions on April 7, 2024. There were 10 inductees, including students, faculty, and staff.

Tri-Alpha was founded March 24, 2018, at Moravian College (now Moravian University) in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, to recognize academic achievements, promote leadership, and provide support networks for first-generation college students.

“I am so proud to be among the very first inductees of the new Tri-Alpha Honor Society at Elmira College,” said Dr. Elizabeth Lambert, Vice President of Campus Life and Dean of Students and an advisor for the new Tri-Alpha Honor Society chapter. “This inaugural ceremony was to induct the advisors and the student officers to our chapter. Recognizing high-achieving, first-generation college students will assist in building a sense of community and belonging among students who share similar experiences. The goal of this new honor society is to actively create valuable support networks and resources for first-generation students as they navigate the challenges of higher education.”
