Programmer Analyst

Elmira College is a private liberal arts College located in the Finger Lakes region of New York. Elmira College was the first college to offer a comprehensive curriculum for women, and is home of the Center for Mark Twain Studies. We are seeking a Programmer Analyst to join the Information Technology team.

The Programmer Analyst is part of the Information Systems team within the Information Technology Department. The Programmer Analyst will report to the Director of Information Systems and Integrations, and participate in the development, integration, and support of the information systems used at the college.

The individual in the position will also work closely with the Helpdesk to ensure that day-to-day support tickets assigned to the Information Systems team are resolved in a timely fashion.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assist in the oversight and management and integrations of all information systems.
  • Assist in the automation of business processes to improve workflow, ensure integrity of data, and reduce manual labor.
  • Gather requirements and get input from Departments outside of IT in support of Information Systems projects, reports, and business process improvement as well as developing and modifying reports for all departments as needed.
  • Provide day-to-day support for Information Systems related tickets.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associates Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
  • Experience with Data Analytics and Reporting
  • Experience with Object Oriented Programming languages such as: .NET, C#, Python
  • Database experience with Microsoft SQL, or comparable databases.
  • Ability to write code that is maintainable and up to date with current standards.
  • Possesses the ability and willingness to learn new languages and technologies.
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively with IT staff, and other non-technical college staff.

WORK LOCATION: On-site

COMPENSATION: $62,353.20 annually

This position is benefit eligible.
