Freedom, Womanish Ways and Democracy: The Women’s Suffrage Movement in the Bahamas: 1948-1962

Marion is known for her poetry, her talented ability to write short stories, her essays, and her work as an attorney. As s graduate of Cambridge University, she has been working as an attorney since 1986, specializing in Women Suffrage in the Bahamas.

Marion’s first volume of poetry, Guanahani, My Love, won the prestigious Casa de las Américas Prize. It was published in a bilingual edition (Spanish/English) in 1995. Guanahani, My Love, was re-published in March 2009 by House of Nehesi Publishers, St. Martin, WI.
