The annual Women's and Gender Studies symposium, named for Elmira College alum Julia Reinstein '28, will be held from January 25-27. These events are free and open to the campus community. The theme this year is Jane Austen's book Emma.
Student discussion panel: "Re-Reading Emma: a Reader's Point of View" on Wednesday, January 25 from 1:15-2:15 p.m. in Harris 4
Movie Night: A showing of the 2020 version of the film Emma on Thursday, January 26 at 7:00 p.m. in the IDEA Center. Refreshments will be served.
Please especially join us for the keynote address, "Racial Indirect Discourse in Jane Austen's Emma (1815)," which will be from Cornell graduate student Victoria Baugh. The keynote address will be held in the Cowles Chapel from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on Friday, January 27.
