Elmira College embraces the responsible use of social media to communicate and build relationships with prospective and current students, alumni, employees, parents, and community members.
All social media accounts affiliated with Elmira College should remain consistent with the College's mission and values, and the intended purpose of each account should be to positively promote an Elmira College department, office, program, team, club, or organization and the events and news pertaining to it. Faculty, staff. and students using a social media account, known as social administrators, are expected to uphold the College's reputation and ensure all content is related to the College and does not contain any offensive, suggestive, or accusatory material.
Before starting an official College social media account, you must first receive approval from the Social Media Advisory Committee. Check out our Social Media Policies and Best Practices for guidelines about developing and managing an account.
