Thrive with a Management Degree

People aren’t born leaders — they’re made. That’s why at Elmira, we’ve centered our Master of Science (MS) in General Management around performance-based experiences that will help you build real-world skills and knowledge to prepare you for success in any industry. The flexible program consists of 33 credits of required coursework and is designed to be completed within a 12-month or a two-year time frame.

MS or Certificate — Which is Right for You?

Depending on your professional goals, you can choose between pursuing a certificate or a master’s degree in Management. Learn about the differences and what you can gain from each.

  • Our Graduate Management Certificate is the right choice if you already hold a baccalaureate or advanced degree and want to gain subject-matter expertise. This program is best suited for students who want to work and take classes simultaneously. It takes 15 credits to become certified. These credits can also be applied to the master's degree in Management if you decide to extend your studies.
  • Our Management, MS is the right choice if you are planning a career in management, you are a current manager, or you have aspirations for career advancement. It requires satisfactory completion of 11 courses totaling 33 semester credits. There are no electives. The degree is comprised of performance-based learning experiences intended to develop the essential knowledge and skill competencies required for general managers.

  • Completed application form
  • Official transcripts from each college or university attended while earning a bachelor's degree
  • Two professional recommendations
  • A completed bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum cumulative undergraduate grade point averages:
    • Master of Science in Management program: GPA of 2.7
    • Candidates possessing undergraduate GPAs below the required minimums may be considered for conditional admission by the Director of Graduate Studies on a case-by-case basis.
