What Art Will Teach You

Elmira College's Art degree program is about finding your creative voice and channeling it into a successful future. With four areas of study, you'll specialize your creative talents to fit any industry. Your professors are artists in their own right, with decades of experience that they bring into the classroom and studio. In addition to your professors' guidance, you'll have access to well-equipped, spacious studios and computer labs to put your theory and artistic eye into practice.

What Can You Do With An Art Degree?

You will develop more than just your own artistic skills – you will also learn critical thinking, communication, analysis, and problem-solving. The Art degree program at Elmira also ensures that by graduation, you'll have developed a portfolio of work to showcase to potential employers. Graduates of our Art program have gone on to become teachers, professional artists, illustrators, designers, art handlers, gallery managers, and curators. And many students at Elmira choose to double major in art/business, art/psychology, art/anthropology, art/English, or art/history.
