Since the first conference in 1989, the Elmira College Center for Mark Twain Studies has hosted quadrennial conferences devoted to advancing and exploring the State of Mark Twain Studies. The Conference takes place on the Elmira College campus and at Quarry Farm. More than 150 scholars and friends of Mark Twain from across the United States and around the globe gather for concentrated scholarship, over three days, on the life and literature of Samuel Langhorne Clemens, Mark Twain. More than 70 scholarly papers are shared as well as Keynote addresses, special presentations and exhibitions, and excellent dining. Housing is available on campus as well as in nearby hotels.
