Since 2016, Elmira College has hosted the Emerging Scholar Lecture Series twice each year. This lecture series gives advanced graduate students and early-career scholars in various humanities fields an opportunity to give a public lecture related to their research, meet with interested Elmira College students, and visit courses to discuss their research. In the past, the college has hosted visitors from area universities such as Cornell University, Penn State, Saint John's University in Queens, and the University of Connecticut. The Fall Term lecture is typically held in late October or early November, and the Winter Term lecture in late February or early March. The lecture series is sponsored by The Office of the Provost, the Humanities and Creative Arts Division, and Phi Beta Kappa of Elmira College.
