Elmira College Orchesis Dance group

Today’s #WhatToDoWednesday shines a spotlight on Orchesis, one of Elmira College’s many talented dance groups completely run by students. The Club welcomes all skill levels and pride themselves on dancing to a wide-variety of styles.

Orchesis produces two shows a year, one in the fall term and one in the winter term, and performs at Octagon Fair, Dance Marathon, and other campus events. This past weekend, Orchesis hosted their fall show performing to songs by Sia, Justin Timberlake, Ed Sheeran, Hozier, and more.

“What I like about Orchesis is that students from all different dance backgrounds, varying dance styles, and varying dance abilities get together to do what they love… DANCE!” said Patti Ann Little, Orchesis secretary.

“Orchesis is one of those rare places where everyone has a place. Whether you've never danced before; never want to stop dancing; or simply love watching it, this club can cater to the needs of an entire student body,” said Leah Cunningham, vice president of Orchesis.
