NYC Alumni Debut New Play by Professor John Kelly

Members of the Elmira College New York City Alumni Chapter recently performed a staged reading of a new full-length play by playwright and Elmira College Professor, John J. Kelly.

Alumni, friends, and family gathered at the Dramatist Guild Fund Music Hall in Manhattan on October 1 to debut the play, titled, Changes.

Set in the Vatican, the play follows the arrival of the newest Pope, Ulujimi, a blind African prelate, whose seeks to modernize and broaden the Church, but faces steadfast opposition. Nevertheless the Pope moves forward with faithful determination that leads to dire consequences.

Alumni participants and attendees included: Margaret Kasper Reed ’73, Morgan Paige Fluss ’06, Kristen Feeney ’04, Katherine Juliano ’15, Erin Francisco ’09, Matt Ultan ’14, Anthony Naranjo ’15, Andrew Higgs ’14 and Kevin Winebold ’04.
